Rhonda Groves has accumulated over three decades of experience in the administrative field. Her journey with baton twirling began at the age of seven in Portsmouth, VA, and continued through her senior year of high school. Although she took a break from twirling during her mid-thirties, she always felt a strong connection to the sport. In 2002, an opportunity presented itself when her stepdaughter joined The Royalettes Baton Corps in Richmond, VA. Rhonda stepped in as their fundraising coordinator and website developer, overseeing the organization of numerous contests aimed at generating funds for the Corps.
In 2004, she transitioned into a coaching role, and by 2010, she was invited to contribute to the planning and organization of the Virginia State Baton Twirling Championships as part of the now-defunct Virginia Twirling Association. Her dedication and expertise led to her certification as a National Baton Twirling Association (NBTA) Judge in 2014.
Today, Rhonda continues to make significant contributions to the baton twirling community by coaching with the Royalettes Baton Corps and serving as a judge at baton twirling competitions. Her profound experience in baton twirling, coupled with her commitment to mindfulness, has earned her admiration from both her employer and various volunteer organizations.
